Selection and recruitment
Contents
Hiring,
or entrusting a consulting service of our business to a professional, might
raise some anxiety in those who have the responsibility for a business. In
times of financial restrictions and open market, the selection and recruitment
process for professionals in the tourism sector faces strong challenges which
owner of micro, small and medium sized businesses have to face. After having
identified the company’s needs in terms of professional support, the
entrepreneur in tourism has to come up with the procedure of describing the
expected working activities, reaching out to find the candidates for the
positions, select them, hire them and inserting them in the staff in order to
be fast effective in their duties fast.
This
procedure requires the ability to really match the expected human resource with
the different candidates available, a task that cannot just rely on technical
tools but has to be supported also by expertise, which only time and experience
can support. However, a proper training which offers knowledge about the
process, familiarity with some supporting tools, and hints which can be derived
from good practices will minimize the risk of getting the non-matching
professional on board.
Managers, coordinators, marketers, and owners of SMEs
active in the tourism business offering both products and services in tourism.
